As Vice President/Director of Reporting for Related Companies LP, a premier global real estate company, Joanne spent fifteen years overseeing all aspects of finance and accounting responsibilities for several world-class development projects.

Throughout her long career, Joanne was often the only woman at team and partners’ meetings and bank walk-through inspections. Inspired by these challenges, she worked side-by-side with project teams and proved herself to be a high achieving trailblazer. 

Developing and mentoring others has always been a top priority for Joanne.

Her coaching and encouragement helped many on her team gain
promotions to senior positions as controllers, finance managers, senior accountants, and financial analysts.

Having grown up working in family-owned construction and real estate companies in South Florida, she naturally gravitated towards these industries.

Her innate analytical abilities combined with her emotional intelligence and sense of responsibility enabled her to build talented teams, interface effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, and quickly master her roles on challenging projects, which grew in magnitude, complexity and scope over the years.

One of the keys to Joanne’s success on projects was a desire to constantly
improve systems and streamline workflow processes. Among the innovative processes she developed, championed, and/or implemented include:

•  A virtual requisition website to host open-book compliance
  

         documentation ensuring on-time funding for multi-billion dollar

         development projects with numerous stakeholders;

• Automation of the data extraction and reporting processes for multi
  

         phase projects with complicated cost allocations;

• A construction payment management solution that helped turn-around a
  

         $900 million dollar troubled asset project; this system was

         subsequently adopted company-wide for all projects.
